Influenza

Click for H1N1 InformationPandemic Influenza H1N1 vaccine is currently available for the following groups only:

  • anyone six months of age and older with a chronic medical condition,
  • students Kindergarten up to and including Grade 12 (rolling plan for grades 7 to 12 - please see clinic information)
  • children six months up to five years of age,
  • pregnant women,
  • women who are up to 4 weeks postpartum,
  • persons of any age who are immune-compromised and their primary caregivers,
(see full listing of conditons under clinic locations),
  • 2 primary caregivers of infants under 6 months of age,
  • daycare workers with responsibility for direct care of infants under 6 months,
  • community healthcare workers (includes pharmacists, pharmacist technicians, personal care home staff, group home staff, SHR staff).

Infants less than six months of age cannot receive immunization for H1N1.

Influenza Assessment Centre:

Saskatoon Health Region will operate a temporary adult Influenza Assessment Centre at St. Paul's Hospital until at least Monday, November 23.

Chief Medical Health Officer’s report examines inner city, suburban and rural health status

Saskatoon Health Region has released the 2008 health status report, a sub-regional update on a report released previously in 2004. The report tells a story about the overall health and well-being of Saskatoon Health Region residents. Click to download the Executive Summary PDF

The report examines the health status of residents, including life expectancy, disease rates, infant mortality and health-related behaviour. It also examines housing, income and education levels, water quality and air quality, as determinants of health. The report makes 24 recommendations to help improve the health status of residents.
