How Can I Get Involved?
Our goal is to have patients, families, staff and physicians say “Together, we got this right,” when they walk through the doors. It means we need to not just concern ourselves with how the building or the room looks, but we need to ask ourselves what is the best way to deliver our care and design a facility that supports this.
So, before we draw up the blueprints and build, we have to create the foundation of an exceptional facility best suited for our province. This will come through the design process. This is where we need your help.

Children
Saskatoon Health Region is looking to hear from children and teenagers to help create the detailed design of our hospital. Watch for more information through our project update section. Patients and Families
Saskatoon Health Region has established a Children’s Hospital of Saskatchewan Patient and Family Working Group. We currently have 18 families involved to help guide the overall design of this facility and share their personal opinions and insight on what can be improved and changed.
As the project moves into detailed design, you will have more opportunities to participate in the planning and we will be sharing more information about the project’s progress.

Staff and Physicians
Staff and physicians are heavily involved in schematic design sessions. These sessions have designated staff, families and physicians helping to establish the basic floor plan of the new hospital.
In parallel, staff, physicians and families have been working on process improvements to strengthen care delivery today and in the future. Recommendations from this work are used to influence the design of the hospital in order to best support these improved processes and deliver exceptional patient care.
Participants were chosen or assigned by the various departments, and in some cases, an invitation was extended to an entire area for participation.

General Public
We are currently designing the overall floor plan for the facility. As we move into greater design, we will be looking for more participation from the public from all parts of the province. Some of this will include on-line surveys about different aspects of the building.
