Project Office and Information
Saskatoon Health Region is leading the project, but is partnering with families, patients, staff, physicians, University of Saskatchewan, Children’s Hospital Foundation of Saskatchewan, Meewasin Valley Authority, City of Saskatoon, Ministry of Health and other health regions in making decisions surrounding the project, its design and construction.

CHS Project Team
Children’s Hospital of Saskatchewan Project Team is currently made up of both Saskatoon Health Region employees and external consultants including project managers and architects. The team consists of many Saskatoon Health Region supportive departments and advising clinical groups. These resources are assigned to implement the Project Delivery Plan to achieve the project’s objectives.
This team is a working group, not a decision making body. This working group is to bring those key decisions made by the Project Executive Team and CHS Steering committee to fruition.
We continue to build the project team and currently have about 20 people working on this both full-time and part-time, including architects.
The CHS project team went through an extensive and rigorous request for proposals process in order to hire a number of consultants including:
The project team will continue to grow as we delve further into design, get closer to drawing up construction documents (blueprints) and starting construction.

CHS Project Executive Team
This team consists of appointed members who have the technical and policy knowledge to guide the Project in the planning and implementation stages of design and construction. It consists of both Saskatoon Health Region representatives and key external consultants.
The team acts as an active participant in the guidance of planning, design, and construction implementation. Decisions are made within the approved scope, budget, and schedule. Decisions that cannot be made by the Project Executive Team will be elevated to the steering committee.

Design Implementation Team
This team consists of the CHS Project Executive Team, leaders from departments related to CHS and representation from the Ministry of Health and University of Saskatchewan. Members have clinical and operational knowledge to support the Project Executive Team during the Design Phase of CHS.
The Design Implementation Team provides clinical and operational feedback to the Project Executive team at key design milestones.

Departmental User Groups
Each group has responsibility for the design of a specific area of the new hospital. Each group includes clinical staff and physicians, non clinical staff, architects, engineers, and other consultants as required. These groups focus on the areas of outpatient care services, inpatients care services, emergency services, clinical support areas, administration and support services and general support services.
Participants were chosen or assigned by the various departments, and in some cases, an invitation was extended to an entire area for participation.

Children’s Hospital of Saskatchewan Steering Committee
Saskatoon Health Region is creating Children’s Hospital of Saskatchewan with many partners. It is working closely with the Children’s Hospital Foundation of Saskatchewan to make sure that the hospital has the resources and equipment required to deliver state-of-the-art maternal and pediatric health services. The Region is also working closely with the Government of Saskatchewan through the Ministry of Health to make sure the entire project aligns with the Ministry’s priorities and goals.
Children’s Hospital of Saskatchewan Steering Committee is the group responsible for the overall project direction and key decisions related to budget, scope, and timeline and project deliverables. No scope, timeline or budget decisions will be made outside this team.
