Frequently Asked Questions
Please review the steps outlined below prior to starting your application submission.
Step 1 Prepare your application &/or resume |

Complete the External Application |

If you do have access to Adobe Reader, complete the form External Application. |

If you don’t have access to Adobe Reader, complete the form External Application, print it and arrange to have it scanned in .pdf format.
Why? When the External Application is completed in programs other than Adobe Reader, it often appears blank when we receive it. |

Prepare your resume in .doc or .pdf format and save it. |
| Step 2 Determine the Posting or Casual Bulletin number(s) (optional) |
| |
If you are applying for a specific Posting or Casual Bulletin, you will need to indicate this number when you make your application. This number begins with and 8 digit number starting with 20. For example: 20110001-123
|
Step 3 Complete the application submission form
|
A separate submission must be made for each Posting or
Casual Bulletin.

| Step 4 Receive your confirmation number |

When you click on Submit and clear any errors, you will receive a message that indicates:
- the confirmation number
- the posting or casual bulletin number (where applicable)
- the date and time you submitted your application
You will receive a confirmation number even if your application is submitted after the posting closing date, however, late applications will not be included in the competition. |

Things to Know
All applicants for any position within the Region will be required to provide a resume and/or completed application form.
If you are selected for an interview, the following documents must be provided to the hiring manager at the time of your interview:

A copy of the Online Pre-Employment Requirement certificate of completion (please click here for further information regarding this requirement) |

A police criminal record check |

Please go to your nearest police/RCMP detachment requesting a valid record, including a vulnerable sector search. You will be required to present the original paperwork to the hiring manager. No offers of employment will be made until the hiring manager has seen an original criminal record check. |

You can print this Criminal Record Check Letter and take it with you to the police/RCMP detachment when requesting a criminal record check. |

|
Please note: Applicants will be required to provide a criminal record check at his or her own expense. |
