Imagine a health care system with no errors or critical incidents, no adverse events, no safety concerns, no repeat visits or admissions and no variation in work or practice.
Imagine a system where care providers are all connected by strong relationships, trust and strong processes rather than paperwork, bureaucracy or unnecessary transfers.
Now is the time to proudly create the next generation of health care in Saskatchewan - the birthplace of public health care.
Our skilled employees, teams and physicians are ready to transform Saskatoon Health Region’s care and service from good to great, from excellent to truly exceptional. This philosophy of continuous improvement will create a system where we can:
- provide the right care, at the right time, in the right setting
- improve processes and experiences for staff and patients
- eliminate waste such as errors, wait times, transport, handoffs, space and inventory
- continuously improve our care and service with each patient at the centre
- break down silos and improve relationships to speak act and lead with one voice
- focus on the most important strategies to improve the health of our communities.

As a patient representative, Deb Johnston had been on the receiving end of a testing procedure but never knew the process involved once the test was complete.
“I learned what the wait times were on the other side of things,” she explains. “It was really surprising to learn how many people have a part to play in a test or diagnostics procedure, which in my mind are just a small portion of my overall experience.”
