October 3, 2005, Saskatoon - As part of the 2005 Fall…in motion - Stay Active campaign, October 10th to 16th has been designated as “Fitness and Leisure Facilities Week” in Saskatoon.
To encourage Saskatoon and Region residents to get in motion, most Saskatoon fitness facilities will be offering open house times for the public to use their facility for Free!.
Working out at a gym or fitness facility on a regular basis can bring you all the benefits of being in motion: better health, better weight control, more energy, more independence in later life, stronger muscles and bones, better posture and balance, and less stress.
The fitness and leisure facilities of Saskatoon have come together to offer this opportunity as they understand the importance of an active and healthy community.
Saskatoon and Region residents are being challenged to “Stay Active” for the entire month of October and to keep track and register their activity logs for a chance to win a number of prizes throughout the month.
In motion is a health promotion strategy led by Saskatoon Health Region in partnership with the City of Saskatoon, University of Saskatchewan and ParticipACTION.
