(SASKATOON) June 13, 2005 – A public meeting of the Saskatoon Regional Health Authority will take place Tuesday, June 14, from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the Centennial Auditorium in Saskatoon.
Items that will be reviewed and discussed by the Authority include the following:
Surgical Wait List Quarterly Report – Information regarding investments to improve surgical access will be provided. In 2004-05, the Health Region reduced the overall surgical wait list by 7% and reduced the total number of people waiting 18 months or more for surgery by 40%.
Emergency Medicine Bi-Monthly Report – The Authority will receive an update on progress being made on the recommendations put forth in the College of Physicians and Surgeons and the Dr. Larry Ohlhauser reports regarding emergency cases and emergency room integration.
The recommendations relate to space and patient flow, quality of patient care and physician and staff related issues.
Affiliation Agreement between SRHA the University of Saskatchewan – The Authority will be asked to approve an affiliation agreement which defines and clarifies joint relationships and interdependent roles in teaching, research, administration and patient care. The agreement will replace the 1997 agreement between the University and Saskatoon District Health.
2004-05 Operational Performance – The Chief Financial Officer will present to the Authority for their information the operational performance of the Health Region for 2004-05. The presentation will include financial and statistical information.
