SASKATOON, December 15, 2005 -- A public meeting of the Saskatoon Regional Health Authority will take place today, December 15, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. in Saskatoon at the Garden Hilton Inn, North Ballroom.
Items that will be reviewed and discussed by the Authority include the following:
Performance Monitoring – The Regional Health Authority will review its financial statements for the period ending October 31, 2005, which indicate a surplus of $1.95 million for the seven month period ended October 31, 2005.
2004 Health Status Report – Dr. Corey Neudorf will ask the Authority to reach decision for approval in principle of the recommendations from Chapter 5, Major Causes of Death and Disability.
Report on HIV/AIDS – Dr. Johnmark Opondo will provide the Authority with information on the prevalence of HIV/AIDS in Saskatoon Health Region and discuss the role Public Health Services is playing in working to reduce those incidences.
Credentials Report -- The Authority will make a decision on the deferred appointment of Dr. Charles Smith.
Ratification of the Saskatchewan Union of Nurses (SUN) Tentative Collective Agreement – The Authority will be asked to ratify the agreement between SUN and the Saskatchewan Association of Health Organizations.
