(SASKATOON) Tuesday, March 7, 2006 – The Saskatoon Health Region (SHR), through its Community Grants Program, proudly announces $101,424 funding for 11 innovative projects – six in Saskatoon and five in rural Saskatchewan.
The five rural projects are located in Allan, Duck Lake, Osler, Humboldt and Wynyard. "The Community Grants Program helps empower communities to help themselves. The Saskatoon Health Region is impressed with the number of innovative proposals we received this year. We’re happy to be able to assist these communities in expanding their leadership capacity in the area of health, and these community leaders are commended for their commitment to healthier living," said Suzanne Mahaffey, Chair, Community Grants Committee.
The Community Grants Program funding is divided into three categories: Community Wellness (max. $5,000), Health Promotion (max $10,000) and Community Health (max $15,000).
