(October 17, 2006) – A public meeting of the Saskatoon Regional Health Authority will take place Wednesday, October 18, from 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. in Michelangelo Room A, Radisson Hotel, 405 20th St. East, Saskatoon.
Items that will be reviewed and discussed by the Authority include the following:
Strategic Plan – Saskatoon Regional Health Authority will consider a recommendation to approve a new three-year strategic plan. The strategic plan, which covers January 2007 to March 2010, outlines a renewed vision, mission, and values for the Health Region. It also includes five strategic directions along with specific goals and measurable targets for each. More than 1500 staff, physicians, external partners, and members of the general public provided input during the 10-month planning process. (News Editors: Please note that an embargoed copy of the 54-page strategic plan is available Wednesday morning by calling Kerilyn Voigt at 306-655-3386.)
Performance Monitoring – The Regional Health Authority will review its financial statements for the period ending August 31, 2007.
Report of the President and CEO – Maura Davies, President and CEO, will update the Authority on various initiatives including: a quality-of-life survey conducted earlier this year of 542 residents living in the 29 long-term care facilities in the health region; physical space changes to enhance service delivery in Saskatoon hospitals; and an "artist-in-residence" program for Parkridge Centre and Sherbrooke Community Centre.
