(November 20, 2006), Saskatoon – Canadian recording artist Adam Gontier, lead singer of Three Days Grace, shared his story and success in battling a narcotics addiction Friday at Saskatoon Health Region's Calder Centre, where he performed an acoustic set for clients and staff and answered questions about music, touring and living life fully with an addiction.
The visit was a part of Gontier's 'Three Days to Change' tour, which sees him visiting an addictions centre in each city on his band's tour schedule.
"Adam's performance had a major impact at Calder Centre and was inspirational to all clients and staff," says Blair Buchholz, Calder Centre Manager. "He really connected with the youth clients and inspired a sense of hope in the group. He is a great role model with a great message."
Saskatoon Health Region would like to thank Rawlco Radio and Sony/BMG for organizing the performance. Additionally, Rawlco's Rock 102 held an on-air auction to raise money for Calder Centre, auctioning off a Three Days Grace prize package. $640 was raised for recreational programming at the centre.
