(SASKATOON) February 21, 2006 -- A public meeting of the Saskatoon Regional Health Authority will take place tomorrow, February 22, from 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. in Saskatoon at Ballroom North, Hilton Garden Inn (90 22nd Street E).
Items that will be reviewed and discussed by the Authority include the following:
Report of the President and CEO – Maura Davies, President and CEO, will update the Regional Health Authority on various topics including the service alignment project; current system pressures; and continuing efforts to reduce overall surgical waitlists while demand for surgical procedures is on the rise.
Performance Monitoring – The Regional Health Authority will review its financial statements for the period ending December 31, 2005, which indicate a surplus of $816,000 for the nine month period ended December 31, 2005.
Health Services Accreditation – The Authority will receive an update on the health services accreditation process. A progress report was submitted to the Canadian Council on Health Services Accreditation in January 2006, and it is anticipated the region’s demonstrated progress will be considered positively.
Saskatoon Health Region Human Resources Plan – Highlights of the annual review of the Region’s three-year human resources plan will be presented to the Authority.
Reconsideration of Appointment to Medical Dental Staff – The Authority will give reconsideration to its previous decision related to Dr. Charles Smith, as per established protocol.
St. Ann’s Senior Citizens Village Corporation Request – The Authority will decide whether to support a request from St. Ann’s Senior Citizens Village Corporation, an affiliated agency of SHR, to transfer the sponsorship from its current membership to the Saskatchewan Catholic Health Corporation.
