(April 10, 2008) Saskatoon –
Saskatoon Health Region is celebrating its approximately 8,000 volunteers and spiritual caregivers (at an appreciation gala on Sunday).
“Saskatoon Health Region volunteers are real people making a real difference in the lives of others,” said Joy Adams, Director, Volunteer Services and Spiritual Care, Saskatoon Health Region. “We are grateful for the contributions of our dedicated volunteers.”
Volunteer Services has launched a new volunteer recruitment campaign. The department is using the motto “Because I Can . . . Impact the Health of Our Community” as part of its campaign.
There are a variety of volunteer positions available in the Region’s hospitals and long-term care facilities, as well as through Community Volunteer Services. To learn more about volunteering, visit the Region’s website, www.saskatoonhealthregion.ca, or call 655-2026.
Volunteer recruitment in Saskatoon Health Region was previously done on a site-specific basis. Volunteer Services is now taking a regional approach, with more cross-site collaboration for volunteer placement. The department has also enhanced its portion of the Region’s website, and on a regular basis posts current opportunities for each site.
