(June 17, 2008) Saskatoon – The Saskatoon Health Region, in cooperation with the Strasbourg and District Health Centre, is pleased to announce that Dr. David Archer will begin practice in Strasbourg on July 10, 2008.
It has been more than two years since Strasbourg and area has been served by a resident physician. The successful recruitment of Dr. Archer will serve to improve access to primary physician care for the residents of Strasbourg and surrounding area.
“The Strasbourg and District Health Centre is thrilled with the successful recruitment of Dr. Archer”, stated Norm Smith, Chairperson, Strasbourg and District Health Centre. “We have devoted a great deal of time and energy to our recruitment efforts and it is gratifying to witness this positive outcome.”

Dr. David Archer is a graduate of the College of Medicine at the University of Saskatchewan. He is currently working with Northern Medical Services providing medical services to La Ronge and many northern communities. Dr. Archer is married and has two young children.
