(December 14, 2009), Saskatoon – At mass and school immunization clinics outside of the City of Saskatoon, 44% or about 35,000 residents from outside of Saskatoon, rolled up their sleeves for the H1N1 vaccine as of December 9th.
Saskatoon Health Region would like to thank all residents for taking the time to travel to these locations and making the effort to receive their H1N1 immunization. The Region also thanks the many volunteers who were instrumental in operating these clinics.
Staff traveled more than 15,000 kilometres throughout November delivering H1N1 clinics to communities outside Saskatoon. At the peak of H1N1 vaccination, nurses were immunizing close to 5,000 rural residents a week (see the attached backgrounder).

Residents who live outside of the Saskatoon area and who still want to receive H1N1 immunization or for those at high-risk for seasonal influenza and want their seasonal influenza vaccine can call their nearest Health Centre for an appointment.
As of December 13, 43% or 129,000 residents, in Saskatoon Health Region have received their H1N1 immunization.
