There are many different departments in the hospital where specialized medical or surgical procedures are done. These procedures do not require patients to go to the operating room, but patients may require x-rays, blood tests or heart tracings in addition to their procedure.

On the day of the procedure, patients may be taken to a specific department. Staff will explain what patients need to know. Following the procedure, patients go home.
