Humboldt District Hospital is the largest rural hospital in SHR.
The hospital has 42 beds, 9 day surgery stretchers and a staff of approximately 150.
The original St. Elizabeth's Hospital building was built in 1911, with additions made in 1919 and 1928. In 1955 the existing building was constructed and officially opened by the Hon. T.C. Douglas. St. Elizabeth’s Hospital became Humboldt District Hospital on October 31, 2007, when ownership transferred from the Saskatchewan Catholic Health Corporation to the Saskatoon Regional Health Authority.
Admitting
To be admitted into hospital, please report to the Information
Desk located inside the main entrance to the hospital.
Television Service/Telephones
Television rental service is available. Rates and rental order
forms are available at the nursing desks and at the Information
Desk.
Pay telephones are located on each floor. Patients and visitors
are to use these phones for personal calls.
Newspapers/Reading Materials
The Star Phoenix may be purchased on the ground floor across from
the Information Desk. Other reading materials, videos, books,
etc., are available from the Humor Cart. To borrow items, please
ask your nurse.
Chapel
The Chapel is located on the Ground Floor (south end) and is open
24 hours a day. Each morning, upon request, communion is available
to patients.
Patient Meals
The cafeteria is located in the basement of the hospital.
Hours of operation are as follows:
- Breakfast - 8:00 a.m. to 8:30 a.m.
- Coffee - 9:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m.
- Lunch - 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
- Supper - 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Meals will be delivered to your room at the following
times:
- Breakfast – 8:00 a.m.
- Lunch – 12:00 noon
- Supper – 5:30 p.m.
Vending machines are located on the ground floor across from the
Information Desk.
Your Comments are Welcome
Humboldt District Hospital staff wish to provide you with
the best care possible. We would like to hear your comments regarding
your stay. Comment forms are available at the Information Desk
and at the Nursing Station. If you are unable to complete a form,
relatives are encouraged to do so on your behalf.
Telephoning a Patient
Family and friends wishing to speak to a patient are requested
to call the pay telephones on the ward in which the patient is
located.
