Please do not call at these times:
- 7:30 – 8:00 a.m. (shift change and staff reporting times)
- 3:30 – 4:00 p.m. (shift change and staff reporting times)

Television (Pediatric 3000)
The Playroom and Teen Lounge have television sets.
You may also rent a television by contacting the Ward Clerk’s desk.
Telephone
Local outgoing calls must be made from the phone in the Parents’ Lounge or a pay phone by the elevators. There are pay phones on the 3rd Floor Walkway and in the Mall (Main Level).
- If your child is in Pediatrics 3000, you may rent a phone if you wish. Please ask the nurse for details.
- In Pediatrics 3100, there are a few designated rooms for telephone rental.
If you need to phone in for a condition report, please designate one (1) family member to call and then to pass this information on to the rest of the family.
If parents receive personal phone calls, a message will be taken and posted on the Parent Message Board near the Ward Clerk’s desk. Please check this board frequently.
Security
The hospital is not responsible for the loss of belongings.
Please put any clothes away after use so that there is no chance of them being sent to Laundry with the hospital linen.
Please label any other belongings that remain with your child.
Please do not leave your purse or any valuables unattended in your child’s room.
Safety Measures
For your protection, Fire Alarm drills are conducted regularly. If the fire alarm sounds, follow staff instructions closely. Stay wherever you are. Do not enter the stairways or elevators until the "All Clear" signal has been given.
Smoking
There is no smoking in the hospital.
Confidentiality
Confidentiality is very important. Please do not ask to discuss other children and their care.
