Patient Meal Service
Food service information for patients:
- Patient Food Services
Nutritious, good-tasting foods are an important part of our patient’s stay. The Department of Food and Nutrition Services works hard to ensure that patient’s meals meet their needs and food preferences. We provide a wide range of food items for patients requiring special diets. Patients are encouraged to select their food by choosing from a daily menu.
- Menu Selection
The menu for the following day is delivered on your breakfast tray. You are encouraged to make your own menu choices and return the menu on your breakfast tray. Please circle your selections on the menu. You may order half or double portion sizes by writing ½ or 2x beside the item of choice. The menu items you choose may need to be adjusted depending on your diet order, and at times substitutions may be necessary. If you require assistance in completing your menus a Food & Nutrition Services staff member will be glad to help you.

Nourishment Centre
In order to better serve you during your stay , there is a nourishment centre located on your ward that is stocked with food and beverages for you between meals. Please ask one of your health care providers for assistance. A Maternity Snack Cart is also available for nursing mothers everyday at 2:30pm.

Food Allergies & Special Diets
If you are on a special diet, have food allergies or intolerances, please inform your nurse or other health care provider as soon as possible. You may also leave comments on your marked menu that will be reviewed by a Food & Nutrition Services staff member.

Friends, family, and other guests are welcome to enjoy our cafeterias, coffee shops and traveling food carts which offer a variety of tasty and nutritious food items.

Cafeteria (Located on Level 0)
- 9:00 am – 2:00 pm, Monday – Friday
- Closed weekends and Statutory Holidays.
Our cafeteria offers a variety of breakfast and coffee break items including, fresh fruit, freshly baked items, muffins and toast. At lunch, we are proud to offer soup, hot entrees, dessert and hot and cold beverages, as well as our very own Choices Deli Bar – have a sandwich made the way you like it!
Courtyard Cafe (Located on Level 1)
- 7:00 am – 8:00 pm, Monday – Friday
- 9:00 am – 8:00 pm, Weekends and Stats
Courtyard Café offers a refreshing surrounding and great food! We have recently made some exciting changes to our menu. We continue to offer our same great breakfast with a healthier twist, and we have included some additional healthier choices menu items at lunch and dinner such as, toasted sandwiches, Garden Bistro Veggie Burger, Chicken Focaccia Sandwich, Garden Chili, muffin fruit plates and our ever popular fruit/yogurt and granola parfaits to name a few. You will also find freshly prepared Grab and Go sandwiches, salads and fresh vegetable/fruit. And for the sweet tooth, we provide a variety of desserts that will be sure to please.
Nutrition on the Go
A travelling food cart, offers cold sandwiches, salads, soup, dessert and beverages. Visits the following location:
