Wakaw Hospital was built in 1956, and has since seen several additions.
Wakaw Hospital is an acute care facility with 22 beds and a staff
of 66 people.
Admitting
To be admitted into hospital, please report to the Information
Desk inside the main entrance to the hospital.
Television Service/Telephones/Radios
Television rental service is available, although earphones must
be used. An order form is located in your end table. Please fill
this out and give it to your nurse. The rental fee is $1.00 per
day, which you will be required to pay at the end of your stay.
Patients may bring their own radio, however it must be a transistor
radio equipped with earphones.
A pay telephone is located by the Emergency Entrance, near the
Lab and X-Ray Department.
Newspapers/Reading Materials
A Patient Library is located in the Day Room at the end of the
West Wing.
Quiet Room/Clergy
A room is located in the East wing and is available to patients,
visitors and clergy for quiet prayer, meditation and counselling.
A Chaplain or Pastoral Care Worker may visit you while in hospital.
To arrange a visit, please ask your nurse.
Patient Meals
The cafeteria is not open to patients or visitors. Meals will be
delivered to your room at the following times:
- Breakfast – 7:30 a.m.
- Lunch – 12:00 noon
- Dinner – 5:00 p.m.
There is a juice and pop vending machine located in the Patient
Waiting Room.

Wakaw Hospital staff wishes to serve you in the best way possible
and would like to hear your comments about the care you received.
A questionnaire is located in each bedside dresser. Please
complete the questionnaire, or have a family member complete
it for you,
and leave it in your room when you leave the hospital.
