These programs are adjunct services that can supplement core
programs and also focus upon specific and generally complex
client needs. They include:
Dual Diagnosis
Provides services for those who are dually diagnosed with an addiction and
mental health disorder. Examples of such concurrent illnesses may include
substance dependency and bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, among others. The
following may be provided according to your needs:

Problem Gambling
Provides assessment, referral and recovery, services are provided for people
experiencing concerns about their gambling and for people affected by another’s
gambling behavior.

of problem gambling on others
- Explore your recovery goals
- Discover self-help groups and
other community resources

Community Services
Education and early intervention programs are designed to raise the level of
knowledge about alcohol, other drugs and the effect they have on individuals,
families and communities. Sessions are held with elementary and high school
students, professional groups and the general public.
Community development programs are also to enhance the overall
health of communities.
The Community Education Course provides basic
facts about addiction, effects of alcohol and drug use on the
adolescent,
adult and family, the Saskatchewan Model of Recovery
Services philosophy and self-help programs. Community
Education Program provides various workshops to
adults in the community and children in schools. The following
topics are covered:
- Profiles of addiction in the individual, families, and
youth
- Examines effects of using alcohol and drugs on the
family
- Explores physiological effects of alcohol and other
drugs
- Profiles recovery from, and relapse into, addiction
- Provides
consultation about addiction and recovery program development
for agencies or communities.
Methadone Assisted Recovery Services
In partnership with prescribing physicians in
the community, Addiction Services provides
screening, assessment and treatment of opiate dependence
addiction. The focus of
treatment is rehabilitation in the areas of drug use,
physical, mental, social and legal health. Services for
family members
