About Foot Complications
Diabetes related foot complications can be reduced with an interdisciplinary team approach, good blood glucose control and healthy self-care practices.
Prevention and management of foot complications include:
- Annual inspection of the feet
- Identification of risks
- Education of people with diabetes and healthcare providers
- Appropriate footwear
- Rapid treatment of all foot problems
