Performing a Diabetes Foot Screen
Regular screening of the feet of people with diabetes assists with early detection of problems, appropriate referrals and an opportunity for client education. This 13 minute video is for those interested in the prevention and management of diabetes foot complications and includes an explanation and demonstration of a basic diabetic foot screen. Common abnormalities are identified. The target audience is care providers with basic medical knowledge. The video can be used for self-study or as part of a learning event. The video is available in sections to increase the adaptability for use with a variety of audiences.
Learning Package
The Learning Package is designed for use by health care providers (such as, Diabetes Educators, Nurse Practitioners, Registered Nurses, Physicians) to facilitate the learning about performing a basic diabetic foot risk assessment, primarily for providers who have little or no training, in the procedure. In addition, it can be used by health care providers to maintain or refresh their skills in performing a diabetes foot risk screen. The Learning Package was developed to be used in conjunction with the video Performing a Diabetes Foot Screen.
