Palliative Care is a service of active compassionate care primarily
directed towards improving the quality of life for people living
with a life-threatening illness. It is delivered by an interdisciplinary
team providing sensitive and skilled care to meet the physical,
psychological and spiritual needs of both the patient and the
family. Palliative Care Services include:

a 12 bed Palliative Care Unit at St. Paul's Hospital
-
consultation teams at Royal University Hospital,
Saskatoon City Hospital and St. Paul's Hospital
-
Palliative consultation for all long term care
facilities
-
a Palliative Care volunteer program and bereavement
support

Palliative care in Humboldt, Lanigan,
Rosthern, Wadena, Wakaw, Watrous, Wynyard, Nokomis and surrounding areas

June 2 and 3, 2011.
Abstract streams are: Advocacy & Leadership, Education, Innovations and Partnerships in Service Delivery, Interdisciplinary Patient / Family-Centred Care, and Research.
