Immunization Clinic Questions and Answers
How will the clinics operate at OH&S offices?
Sign Up sheets will be posted at each location when clinics become available.
Please sign up and return for your allocated time. This will help avoid line-ups and ensure timely immunization for your work schedule.
Who can get their immunization at the OH&S offices?
Any Saskatoon Health Region employee, physician and registered volunteer.
Please bring your identification to the clinic. If your work site is not one of the acute care sites, we ask that you either wait until a clinic is offered in your facility or attend the public drop in clinics to help avoid congestion at these acute care clinics.
Can I bring my family to these clinics?
No. Public drop-in clinics will be available throughout the Region starting October 11. You can go to these clinics with your family. You will be asked to fill out a registration form in order to track your immunization for your personnel file.
If I am a Health Sciences student, can I go to these clinics?
You can go to an employee clinic or public site, if you are currently employed with Saskatoon Health Region as a practicum student. Saskatoon Health Region identification is required.
Public drop in clinics are available throughout the Region for all post-secondary students. The Health Region will not be holding any on campus clinics available
I don't work at one of these acute care sites, how do I get my flu vaccine?
An occupational health nurse will provide immunization at identified locations. Check back here for when a clinic will be coming near you.
I work for the Health Region outside the city, how do I get my flu vaccine?
Occupational Health & Safety has arranged for Public Health Services to provide immunization in rural communities. Staff will be directed to attend mass clinics as much as possible and sites which do not have a nurse able to provide immunization, will contact Public Health Nurses to arrange a short clinic for staff immunization. Occupational Health & safety will fund these clinics.
I work in an affiliate, how do I get my flu vaccine?
The designated employee peer immunizers will be providing the influenza immunization to the employees at their site or the employee can attend a Public drop in clinic.
Why are you heading to acute care sites in the city first?
The large percentage of high risk patients with complex care are in the Acute Care sites and the health care providers who have direct patient contact are an essential component of the standard of care for the protection of their patients.
Where can I find out more information about public clinics?
Visit www.4flu.ca for clinic times and locations throughout the Health Region. Please identify yourself as an SHR employee or volunteer at the public clinics in order for your information to be passed along to OH&S.
