The Public Health Observatory (PHO) Research Advisory Committee leads the PHO research program. The role of the PHO research program is to contribute to the public and population health evidence base that informs programming and policy in the Saskatoon Health Region.
The PHO Research Advisory Committee is a sub-committee of the PHO Advisory Committee. The PHO Research Advisory Committee is responsible for:
- establishing strategic direction and priorities for research supported by and/or carried out within the PHO;
- providing decisions on requests for leadership of research projects;
- tracking research and evaluation projects occurring within Public Health Services and/or using Public Health Services resources; and
- fostering research partnerships, both within and outside Saskatoon Health Region.
The Chair of this committee is the Program Manager of Research and Evaluation, PHO. Other members include: Head, PHO; Manager, PHO; Chief Medical Health Officer, Saskatoon Health Region; Director, Public Health Services. Guest members of the committee may include representatives of projects that are being discussed by the PHO Research Advisory Committee.
The PHO Research Advisory Committee meets quarterly.
