Preparing Your PowerPoint Presentation
During videoconferencing a digital image is converted to a video signal. This causes a degraded image at the receiving site. The following suggestions will help to maximize your PowerPoint for optimal viewing at local and remote sites:
- Use simple color schemes with good contrast between background and font
- Allow at least 1-inch margins
- Maximum 8 lines per slide
- Use consistent font – minimum 32 and BOLD
- Complex tables do not project well
- Avoid animation or special effects
- Please let us know if planning to use audio or video clips and we can provide you with further guidance
- If you would like to distribute handouts please email them to us a few days in advance
- Please email your completed presentation to us no later than one working day prior so we can ensure compatibility. Please bring a backup copy on USB.
Presentation Day
- Unless arranged in advance, we will be prepared with our laptop (PC) when you arrive
- Please arrive 20 minutes in advance
- No laser pointer - the remote sites will not see it
- Look into the camera periodically to connect with the remote sites
Please contact us with any questions or concerns.
