Volunteer Workforce Service Initiatives contributes to the physical, social, emotional and spiritual well-being of clients and residents and their families and friends. The department selects, orients, trains, places, and supervises volunteers within Saskatoon Health Region. Volunteer Workforce Service Initiatives allows people who volunteer the opportunity to give of themselves to others in their community.
As a volunteer you gain an opportunity to:
- work as a member of a healthcare team;
- gain an opportunity to help and serve others;
- network with other volunteers and healthcare professionals;
- attend various educational workshops;
- develop personally;
- obtain references for employment, scholarships, bursaries
- make new friends

Steps to Volunteer
Home Care helps individuals to remain independent in their homes. The specific services offered include meals on wheels, transportation, shopping and errands, visitation and palliative care visitation.
