The Royal University Hospital (RUH), located on the University of Saskatchewan Campus off of College Drive, opened its doors in 1955 as a major teaching centre and base hospital for Northern Saskatchewan.
RUH is a leader in providing acute-care services for the province, serving as the main trauma center for the entire province. In 1994 it opened a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) – Saskatchewan’s only PICU serving critically ill children.
RUH is the main referral and Teaching/Research Centre in the Saskatoon Health Region, providing specialized services in Emergency and Trauma, Cardiology, Neurology, Burn Treatment, Oncology and Maternal/Child Health.
