Patient Preparation

Exam Procedure
An intravenous line is established in advance so that the patient
does not experience pain from the needle puncture at the time of
the radiopharmaceutical injection. The injection room will be quiet
and dimly lit.
Imaging takes place approximately one hour post-injection. The
patient will be required to lie still as the camera rotates around
their head. This scan takes approximately 30 minutes. Total procedure
time is 90 minutes to 2 hours.
