Patient Preparation
The patient must have nothing
to eat or drink for at least 4 hours prior to the test.
Exam Procedure
The patient will be asked to eat an egg sandwich containing a
radioactive tracer, comprised of one egg and one slice of dry toast.
Images will be taken immediately following the consumption of the
sandwich, and continue for up to 2 hours. Please notify our department
if the patient has any allergies to eggs or is a strict vegetarian.
