Patient Preparation
No specific preparation required.
Avoid the presence of barium in the abdomen.
Exam Procedure
A radioactive
tracer is injected in the arm. Ten to 15 minutes after the injection,
the patient will lie on their back and tomographic images will
be taken of the liver and spleen. The entire procedure will take
45-60 minutes.
