Patient Preparation
None.
Exam Procedure
The patient
will be given an injection of a radioactive tracer into a vein
in their arm. Images of the parathyroid glands will take place
immediately following the injection and again at approximately
90 minutes and 3 hours after the injection. Each image is 10 minutes
in length. The patient may leave the department in between each
set.
