How Do I Prepare for an X-ray?
Plain x-rays of the chest, abdomen, arms, legs and spine require
no preparation and generally take only a few minutes to complete.
However, street clothes and jewellery must be removed from the
area of interest as they can interfere and cover the anatomy.
Please report to the Admitting Department 30 minutes prior to your
scheduled appointment time.
Hysterosalpingogram
X-ray dye is injected
into the uterus and fallopian tubes to demonstrate the anatomy
in women who have not been able to become pregnant or have had
multiple miscarriages. The patient's gynecologist performs this
test. This procedure should be done within 10 days after the
start of the last menstrual cycle (period).
- Time to perform - 30 minutes
- Preparation - Instructions for this procedure
are provided by the gynecologist's office.
