How Do I Prepare for an X-ray?
Plain x-rays of the chest, abdomen, arms, legs and spine require
no preparation and generally take only a few minutes to complete.
However, street clothes and jewellery must be removed from the
area of interest as they can interfere and cover the anatomy.
Please report to the Admitting Department 30 minutes prior to your
scheduled appointment time.
Sialogram
An x-ray examination of the salivary
glands to check for blockages, stones and lumps in the cheeks.
The x-ray dye is injected into the opening of the duct using
a small tube.
- Time to perform – 30 to 60 minutes
- Preparation - There is no preparation for
this test.
