How Do I Prepare for an X-ray?
Plain x-rays of the chest, abdomen, arms, legs and spine require
no preparation and generally take only a few minutes to complete.
However, street clothes and jewellery must be removed from the
area of interest as they can interfere and cover the anatomy.
Please report to the Admitting Department 30 minutes prior to your
scheduled appointment time.
T-Tube Cholangiogram
This test
is performed following the removal of the gallbladder. A drainage
tube will have been left in place after the surgery. X-rays will
be taken as x-ray dye is injected into this tube to demonstrate
the bile duct and its branches to see if there are gallstones
still present in the duct system.
- Time to perform - 30 minutes
- Preparation - Nothing to eat or drink for 4
hours prior to the test.
