Saskatoon Breastfeeding Matters

Saskatoon Breastfeeding Matters is a community-based not-for-profit organization of mothers and health professionals. They work to protect, promote, and support breastfeeding in the community as a biological, ecological, and cultural norm.

for answers to your new-mom questions and support for your infant feeding goals.


CHEP Good Food Inc.

CHEP Good Food Inc. works with children, families, and communities to improve access to good food boxes and promote food security. Breastfeeding has many health benefits for babies and mothers as well as being the economical choice, and so CHEP believes strongly in supporting breastfeeding women and is an advocate for the Baby-Friendly Initiative (BFI) in Saskatoon. Breastfeeding Committee for Saskatchewan

The Breastfeeding Committee for Saskatchewan, Inc. (BCS) is a network of health professionals and consumers that work to protect, promote and support breastfeeding within Saskatchewan as the optimal method of infant feeding.

Health professionals throughout Saskatchewan provide these Fact Sheets to mothers and families to educate about various topics on breastfeeding.

Breastfeeding Committee for Canada

The Breastfeeding Committee for Canada (BCC) was established in 1991 with the vision of establishing breastfeeding as the cultural norm for infant feeding within Canada. 

Saskatchewan Lactation Consultant Association Inc. (SLCA)

The SLCA provides a forum for International Board Certified Lactation Consultants (IBCLC’s) in Saskatchewan to exchange information and ideas, and to provide education to it's membership.

JOIN the SLCA If you are a currently certified IBCLC in Saskatchewan, you work with breastfeeding families, even if you are not a lactation consultant, you are invited to join the SLCA Inc. This includes midwives, doulas, LLLL, LC's, colleagues who work with breastfeeding families.

Membership ensures an invitation to the biannual meetings and education sessions (CERPs provided). As a member, you will enjoy reduced registration fees for the education sessions, and you will receive minutes and correspondence from the SLCA Inc.
