PICU - Information for Visitors

Parents or guardians are able to be on the unit 24 hours a day.

Other visitors are asked not to come to the unit during nurse shift change from 7:30 to 8:00 in the morning and the evening. Also, visiting is not allowed during rounds from 8:00 to 9:30am and 4:00 to 4:30pm.

All visitors to PICU must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at the child's bedside and, for your child's health and safety, only two (2) visitors are allowed at a time.

Upon arriving at PICU, please go to the Family Room. The child's parent or guardian will need to dial into the unit for access. Your visit may be delayed depending on what is happening with the care of the child or teenager you are coming to see. However, we will do our best to accommodate each family's needs.

Cell phones are not to be used within a child's room.

Please wash your hands or use hand sanitizer upon entering and when leaving PICU.

If you have been in contact with the measles, mumps or chicken pox within the last three weeks, please have the child's parent or guardian check with the nurse first. If you are feeling ill or have cold or flu symptoms, please do not visit until you are recovered.
