​Acute Care Pediatrics

Parents or Primary Caregiver: Anytime

All other visitors: 2:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. .

Number of Visitors

 

To ensure your loved one receives proper rest and out of respect for other patients in the room, we ask you have only 2 visitors at a time.

Visitors waiting their turn to visit are asked to wait in the 3rd floor Jarett Stoll Comfort Zone outside the unit near the elevator. If visitors are coming to see parents and not the child, please visit at a location outside the unit within Royal University Hospital.

Age of Visitors

Siblings are welcome to visit between 8:00 a.m. and 8:30 p.m. with parental supervision. Siblings may be in the Playroom or Teen Lounge only when accompanied by the patient and parent. 

Children other than brothers and sisters must be 12 years old to visit. Exceptions to this policy occur only in special situations. Please discuss these with your nurse. 

Feeling ill? Have the sniffles?

If you have a cold, cold symptoms, symptoms of any illness or have been in contact with infectious diseases (e.g., chickenpox, mumps, measles), please do not visit until you are fully recovered.

Washrooms for Visitors

All other visitors must use the public washrooms that are located near the elevators outside of Acute Care Pediatrics.. There are a number of other public washrooms located throughout the hospital.
