Peritoneal Dialysis

Peritoneal dialysis is a type of dialysis that uses the peritoneum (a membrane that forms the lining of the abdominal cavity) as a filter to clear waste and extra fluid from your body and to return electrolyte levels to normal.

This type of dialysis allows patients to manage their care safely and effectively in their own home, to reduce travel to dialysis centres for treatment, and to maintain independence while knowing that support is just a phone call away.

We provide our patients with:

  • Comprehensive education and support on an individualized basis
  • Access to a registered nurse for clinical support 24 hours a day.

We also provide education and support to allied health personnel and family physicians seeking clarification about peritoneal dialysis in the care of their patients.
