Leaving Hospital

You should plan to go home 1 to 2 days after a vaginal birth and 2 to 3 days after a c-section. On the day you are scheduled to leave, we hope to have everything ready for you to go by 11 am.

Before you leave, you will need to hand in your completed Live Birth Registration form.

You should plan to leave the hospital with your baby secured in a CSA-approved infant car seat.

After you leave the hospital, your care journey with us is not over. We will help you in the coming days through our Healthy and Home Program.
