Container	Saskatoon Hospitals Preferred Collection Container: Red Myco/F Lytic Blood Culture Bottle AND Sterile, Round bottom tube, Black screw-cap Referred In Preferred Collection Container: Red Myco/F Lytic Blood Culture Bottle AND Sterile, Round bottom tube, Black screw-cap or Yellow (SPS) Vacutainer Tube
Required Volume	Optimal Volume: 3 to 5 mL Minimum Volume: 1 mL (Submitting the minimum volume makes it impossible to repeat the test or perform confirmatory/reflex testing. In some situations, a minimum volume may require a second collection)
Stability/Storage	Stable at room temperature prior to transport Do NOT refrigerate
