  • ​Whole blood

​Collection Procedure
  • Blood must be collected from a vein
  • To avoid clotting sample, contents in the vacutainer must be mixed
  • Transport sample on ice to the laboratory immediately
​Required Volume
  • ​Optimal Volume: 4 ml
  • Pediatric Volume: 1 mL
    (Submitting the minimum volume makes it impossible to repeat the test or perform confirmatory/reflex testing. In some situations, a minimum volume may require a second collection.)
​Stability/ Storage
  • ​1 hour post collection - Delayed analysis increases the risk that test results no longer represent patient status
