  • ​Serum
​Required Volume
  • ​Optimal Volume: 4.5 mL Full collection tube
    • When ordered with some other tests, one tube may be shared, e.g. HIV, or prenatal screen
  • Minimum Volume: 2 mL
    (Submitting the minimum volume makes it impossible to repeat the test or perform confirmatory/reflex testing. In some situations, a minimum volume may require a second collection.)

  • STAT testing may be ordered to be done within SHR; see Virology tests

Results Reporting​
  • 3 day turn around time by testing laboratory

  • ​All serological results should be interpreted in conjunction with clinical symptoms and where applicable, vaccination history
