​Specimen Requirements​

  • ​Plasma and serum
​Required Volume
  • ​Optimal Volume: 3 mL serum and 3 mL EDTA plasma
  • Minimum Volume: 2 mL serum and 2 mL EDTA plasma
    (Submitting the minimum volume makes it impossible to repeat the test or perform confirmatory/reflex testing. In some situations, a minimum volume may require a second collection.)
  • ​SST tubes must be spun and separated prior to shipment
  • Store at 2 - 8˚C for up to 72 hours
    • Must be received in TML within 72 hours of collection
  • Frozen aliquots of serum and plasma stored at ≤ 20˚C for up to 6 months
