​Required Volume

​Whole Blood

  • Optimal Volume: 8.5 mL
  • Minimum Volume: 2 mL
    (Submitting the minimum volume makes it impossible to repeat the test or perform confirmatory/reflex testing. In some situations, a minimum volume may require a second collection)
  • ​Refrigerate if blood cannot be transported to laboratory immediately after collection
  • Spin specimen and remove serum from cells (Red-top) within six (6) hours of collection
  • Serum stable at 2 to 8°C
