Jim Pattison Children's Hospital
Hospital History

Funding for Saskatchewan's new maternal and children's hospital was announced in the March 18, 2009 provincial budget. However, planning for the hospital had been underway for quite some time before this. Saskatoon Health Region has been responsible for planning of the new hospital since mid 2000's. And prior to this, Saskatoon physicians, health care administrators, government, university, health care professionals and the Children's Hospital Foundation had started discussions around the need and the best location for a dedicated children's hospital.

This has all led to one overall goal — to establish a provincial maternal and children's hospital.

Construction of our new hospital began in September 2014 and is currently scheduled to open in later 2019.
