Saskatchewan's maternal and children's hospital will be located next to Royal University Hospital and Saskatoon Cancer Centre, which is adjacent to the University of Saskatchewan campus.
Jim Pattison Children's Hospital and Royal University Hospital will work together to serve Saskatchewan families. While Children's Hospital will have many of its own stand-alone services such diagnostic imaging and children's oncology, we will rely on Royal University Hospital's support services (such as inpatient food and nutrition and housekeeping). Our new hospital has also been designed to easily and privately access other critical services located in Royal University Hospital such as MRI and PET CT. We will also have access to the care teams who support both children and adults. One example of these are our emergency trauma teams.
Finally, we are located next to the University of Saskatchewan campus, and through Royal University Hospital, are physically connected to our medical education facilities. This will help support the training of our future health care professionals, many of whom may who take their classes on campus, but receive additional training within Royal University Hospital, and eventually our new maternal and children's hospital.
