Time to celebrate!
Friday November 6, 2015 saw the end of the majority of work associated with the exterior wall replacement project as the driveway reopened to traffic. This accomplishment, (almost six months ahead of schedule) has been possible thanks to the amazing work of our construction crew from PCL and McMorrow, SHR Capital Planning and Parkridge staff, with the ongoing support from residents and families. Thank you.
As you will have noticed, construction has mainly been clean up work over the last few days. Please note that work on the remaining green trim on the building will continue into the spring. The intent is to have everything match the new colors. Final ground work and landscaping will also have to wait for the spring.
The exterior wall replacement project began almost 16 months ago and has changed not only how our building looks on the outside, but also how it feels on the inside. Water penetration is no longer a problem in completed areas, and we have undergone extensive interior repairs and refreshment in all resident rooms, including fresh paint and floor waxing. Some internal painting in common areas will continue.
Once again, thank you to everyone. We have been undergoing several years of extensive renovations to make our home and workplace safer. It hasn't been easy, but because of your support and understanding, these major projects are almost complete.
The final phases of construction are now being completed. Read more about where the construction journey started.
During the construction, the staff and residents worked together to ensure that the building remained warm and inviting!
