Wynyard Hospital is an integrated facility that supports acute, respite and long term care. Wynyard Hospital was renovated in 2001. A new long-term care facility (Golden Acres) was built at the same time an added to the hospital. The hospital has eight beds, with 57 beds and two respite beds in long term care, within the integrated facility. The hospital has a staff of approximately 100 employees.
Monday to Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. - Please report to the admitting desk located at the front office by the main entrance. After hours, go to the hospital nursind staff.
Lab services are available Monday to Friday from 8:15 am to 4:00 pm - no appointment is necessary.
Televisions are located in the patient lounges at the end of each corridor. A portable phone is available upon request. Patients may bring their own radio.
The Wynyard Advance and the Star Phoenix are available at the front desk.
A quiet room is provided to allow privacy and confidentiality for families and for counseling and discussions with doctors and nursing staff.
A Palliative room consisting of a private room for the patient and an adjoining room with a kitchen and sleeping accommodations are available for family use.
Upon request clergy make weekly visits to patients. To arrange for a visit, please ask your nurse for more information.
The kitchen is open to visitors for meals. Meals are provided at cost from the kitchen for visitors. Meals will be delivered to your room at the following times:
- Breakfast – 7:30 a.m.
- Lunch – 12:00 noon
- Dinner – 5:00 p.m.
A drink machine and a treat machine are located at the front entrance.
